"Splatoon 2" is the sequel to Nintendo's own approach to the competitive multiplayer shooter and is one of the most anticipated games on the Nintendo Switch. No specific release date has been announced for the game but producer Hisashi Nogami shared a few features regarding the game.

One of Nintendo Switch's unique features is the HD rumble which improves upon the old technology of adding vibration to controllers. It debuted in Playstation's DualShock controllers more than a decade ago and has since remained unchanged since. "Splatoon 2" will be among the first games to showcase Nintendo's unique feature and prove that it is an essential feature rather than a gimmick.

Producer Nogami has confirmed that "Splatoon 2" will take advantage of the new feature while putting a lot of effort to get the best tactile sensations to fit the game. He adds that it would be a cool if the controllers had a specific rumble whenever a player scores a direct hit according to WCcftech.

The HD rumble is one the best features of the Nintendo Switch according to Engadget which follows Nintendo's tradition of applying unique features to their systems. However, some of these features eventually turn out to be gimmicks rather than an essential feature like the 3DS' 3D capabilities. It would be interesting to see how "Splatoon 2" uses this feature and make the game more immersive.

The producer also mentioned that "Splatoon 2" will be getting a graphics upgrade using the improved Nintendo Switch hardware. He did, however, stress that keeping the game at a constant 60 frames-per-second is more important than improving the graphics.

Nintendo is looking to push "Splatoon 2" as an e-sport as the launch trailer for the Nintendo Switch shows an e-sport team preparing and participating in a tournament. Keeping the game at constant 60 frames-per-second is essential for e-sports as a delay in games could have a significant outcome on a match.

Meanwhile, the producer assured fans of the first "Splatoon" that online play will still continue even after the release of "Splatoon 2." But he did say that they would have to eventually shut the servers down after some time.
