The Chicago Bulls fans should buckle up for the NBA trade deadline which is just four days away. A potential blockbuster trade which will involve the Bulls appears to be on the table regarding Jimmy Butler.
According to recent reports regarding the NBA trade, the league's biggest trade deadline story will be Jimmy Butler, involving the Bulls and the Celtics. Butler currently plays for the Bulls. There is no question about this and a potential Chicago-Boston deal regarding the player will probably loom for the whole deadline week.
Both the teams have engaged on the potential of the Butler trade, they still haven't gone far down the road for it so far. Some kind of alignment is needed within the Bulls organization, though, from owners to the management side of the club on whether they want to make this decision and trade Butler so as to start a team rebuild or not.
The potential of this though illustrates that these two clubs have exactly what each other wants. The Bulls have a top-10 NBA player in their armory who could possibly put Celtics in a position to dethrone LeBron James in the East. James' Heat and Cavaliers have won the East in last six seasons.
Butler had yet another career year, averaging 24.5 points, 6.3 rebounds and 5 assists in 36.6 minutes. Adding the quality he possesses with Isaiah Thomas at the backcourt will certainly shake up the Eastern Conference and Celtics a legitimate threat for the oppositions.
The Celtics have been looking for hoard young assets ever since they let go Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce to the Brooklyn Nets back in 2013. They have the right to swap picks with the Nets in 2017 and they have Brooklyn's first-round pick outright in the next year.
But certain reports suggest that Celtics won't be able to get both 2017 and 2018 draft picks, but that is the beginning point of the deal with Bulls over Jimmy Butler because they can in this 2017 draft, potentially to replace Derrick Rose with star point guard. Along with him, Celtics can get other assets to start the team rebuild.
