Barcelona To Appeal Suarez Booking For Copa Del Rey Final

Barcelona has decided to appeal against Luis Suarez red card in the semi-final match against Atletico Madrid. The striker was shown a red card for his second booking after hitting Koke in the face with his arm.

Barcelona is hoping to reverse the suspension on Luis Suarez from the King's Cup final. They wrote on their official website that they will also appeal against Sergio Busquets' yellow card in the game.  Anyways Busquets will be playing the final as he hasn't faced any suspension but the interesting thing is that Barcelona is not going to appeal for defender Sergi Roberto who is banned from the finals as he also received two yellow cards.

Suarez was the third player to be sent off by the referee Jesus Gil Manzano who said that  he booked Suarez in the 90th minute for  "striking his arm against a rival player in a reckless fashion while contesting the ball." He also said about Busquets who was given the card for "kicking the ball out of play when a free-kick was due to be taken, in a sign of disagreement" as reported in Indian Express. Barcelona defended Busquets by saying there was an extra ball on the pitch when Busquets kicked the other one.

"Barcelona will appeal the booking given to Suarez in the Copa del Rey semifinal second leg after competing for the ball with Koke," a statement on Wednesday read. "According to the referee's report, Suarez was shown a second booking for 'striking an opposition player with his arm recklessly while fighting for the ball' as reported by ESPN.

Luis Suarez who has never been dismissed playing for Barcelona laughed at this incident after the match and both Suarez and his coach Luis Enrique urged the club to appeal against the decision.

Suarez is a key player for Barca and he was the goal scorer in the match against Atletico Madrid which they won by 3-2 aggregate. Barcelona would not want to lose him for the big finals on Saturday.
