Toyota, the Japanese automotive manufacturing giant has finally arrived with its new model Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid EV (PHEV) in Europe. The new car is available for sale ay £34,895. The vehicle is made tremendously amazing with the flashy design which makes it outstanding from the regular Prius.

According to Auto Car, the Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid EV entry-level Business Edition Plus model is available for £34,895. The model with a sunroof costs £37,095. It is reported that all model of Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid EV vehicle is eligible for the Government's £2,500 grant for plug-in hybrid (PHEV) buyers. Also, the company is reportedly providing 100,000-mile/five-year warranty as a standard.

The Prius Plug-in Hybrid EV (PHEV) sports a powertrain that consists of an 8.8kWH battery pack and a 1.8-liter petrol engine. This electric drive system works in conjunction with a 97bhp version of Toyota's 1.8-litre four-cylinder petrol engine.

According to Toyota, it is claimed that this vehicle has the world's most efficient mass-produced petrol engine combined with the electric motors to give overall power is 120bhp.

Also, it is claimed that Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid EV (PHEV) has a fuel economy of 1.0 volts per 100 kilometers. The actual road test will soon confirm he claims. Toyota claims that the vehicle's CO2 emissions are 22 grams per kilometer.

The Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid EV (PHEV) is reported to achieve 0 to 62 miles per hour in 11.1 and has a top speed of 100 miles per hour. While the Prius Plug-in Hybrid EV (PHEV) is in the EV mode, it achieves a top speed of 84 miles per hour.

Also, Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid EV (PHEV) is incorporated with a type of battery that it takes just two hours to charge up to 65 percent of capacity with a Type II Mennekes connector, or three hours and ten minutes with a home plug socket.

The Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid EV (PHEV) Vehicle is also included with Toyota's Safety Sense package and is reported to be standard on both versions. The Safety Sense package includes

  • Automatic emergency braking (AEB) with pedestrian detection,
  • Lane departure warning with steering control.
  • Blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert (Optional safety features)
