Apple, the Cupertino tech giant might be preparing its next iPad Mini device. Recent reports surfacing on the internet claims that iPad Mini 5, the successor of iPad Mini 4 is likely to hit the tech market in March 2017. The most awaited Apple device iPad Mini 5 is a next generation 7.9-inch tablet device and it is believed that the Apple might rename the device as iPad Pro Mini instead.

According to Tech Times, it is reported that Ming-Chi Kuo hinted the three iPad sizes - 9.7-inch, 10.5-inch, and 12.9-inch. But, there was no mentioning of a 7.9-inch variant so it believed that Apple will surprise the enthusiasts by bringing up the new iPad Pro Mini or iPad Mini 5.

Design: It is believed that Apple is expected to boost the iPad Mini 5 resolution and likely to deploy an aluminum chassis which is the same material that is being used currently in the iPhone 6s and iPhone 7 which will in-turn make iPad Mini 5 durable. Also, it is reported that iPad Mini 5 will be produced lighter and thinner than the iPad Mini 4. The tablet will apparently be 5mm thick, making it 1mm thinner than the iPad Mini 4.

Processor and Storage: Apple is expected to bring in A9 or the newer and most powerful A10 processor in the iPad Mini 5.There are also speculations made that iPad Mini 5 will come equipped with an M9 co-processor, which supports motion tracking. The iPad Mini 5 is anticipated to come in three storage options: 32 GB, 64 GB, and 128 GB along with 3GB of RAM.

Operating System and Camera: Apple iPad Mini 5 is expected to come with latest iOS update and presently it is reported that the company is testing iOS 10.3 Beta. With respect to the camera, it is assumed that Apple will stick to the 8MP primary camera and a 1.2MP front camera.

The iPad Mini 5 is expected to offer 3D Touch, a feature introduced in the iPhone 6s, and be water-resistant thanks to its IP68 certification. Apple Pencil and deploy a D-jack that will replace the 3.5mm headphone jack.
