Roger Federer News and Update: Tennis Superstar Skips French Open Says Its Beyond His Reach

After a remarkable comeback, Roger Federer who won the Australian Open title beating his rival Rafael Nadal seems not much confident about French Open.

The 18 time Grand Slam winner was expected to add more silverware to his cabinet but it is unlikely to happen in Paris. But the Swiss master has suggested that his winning chance at his favorite grass court Wimbledon is better than at French Open.

"Wimbledon over Roland Garros yes, then the US Open. On the grass I've got a lot of tournaments there, I play Stuttgart and Halle. So Wimbledon, I know I have a better shot," Federer told to Daily Mail on Tuesday. "At the US Open actually I also think I have a good chance to do well there, but let's enjoy this one first" as reported in Times Of India.

Federer who was suffering from a knee injury and was out of the court for six months because of which he missed the 2016 Rio Olympics, US Open, and World Tour Finals.

This was Federer's first Grand title after 5 long years and despite being tired from the five-set victory over Nadal he was dancing all night celebrating the win. "That's why I took the six months off, to hopefully still be playing for a couple of years. I am very tired right now, my legs hurt like mad and my back's stiff too because I didn't take any treatment, plus I was dancing last night. I'm still on a high, I'm going to crash eventually but that's OK. And in a week's time I think the pain in my legs will go away," Federer said as reported in All Sports In The World.

So Federer who has a chance of 19th Grand Slam but his statements have disappointed his fans. He won the French Open in the year 2009 but he has never enjoyed playing on clay and the surface can cause an injury to him once again. So eventually his best chance to add one more title to the tally is on the grass at Wimbledon in Summer.
