As stated in The Verge, the press conference will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday, January 23 in the time zone of its native country South Korea. That means it will take place on Sunday, January 22 at 8 p.m. Eastern time.

Samsung gives a statement about the press event that the company will be joined by representatives of "independent expert organizations" which is also looking into the Note 7 issues.

Shortly after the phone began shipping in the fall of 2016, a number of them are exploded, causing damages to cars and other properties.

After the Note 7's exploding incidences, Samsung stopped selling the phone, and also issued a complete recall of the units that were shipped beforehand. The Note 7's recall was one of the largest in tech history.

The company has also sent out software updates to any remaining Galaxy Note 7 phones designed to cut down its battery life or shut it down altogether.

As per The Wall Street Journal, the Note 7 devices contained "irregular sized batteries" which is produced by the SDI subsidiary, which leads to exploding incidences.

Samsung changed its battery supplier to Amperex Technology after the Note 7 devices continued to explode after its first recall due to other "manufacturing issues".

The reports claim that Samsung will put the final blame of the Note 7's exploding issues on its battery, rather than any hardware or software problems with the phone itself.

Other reports claim that the Galaxy Note 7 handsets did not contain enough space to host its 3500mAh battery. However, Samsung will reveal all the detail about Note 7's exploding issues in its press conference.
