Galaxy Note 7: Samsung Will Soon Reveal The Reason Why Phone Was Catching Fire

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is very popular since last year, but not in a positive way. Samsung received many complaints that phone is catching fire and amounts of damage has been done. Samsung recalled every device but till now they have not revealed the reason yet.

Fortune writes that a person familiar with the matter told Reuters on Monday that the conclusion of Samsung's investigation into what caused some Galaxy Note 7s is that the main reason was the battery.

One of the biggest tech giants, Samsung is more likely to announce the results of the investigation on January 23 which is a day before fourth-quarter earnings results.

Samsung will also announce new measures they are taking to avoid a repeat of the product safety failures in future devices. This was said by the person who was not authorized to speak publicly on the matter.

Samsung also wants to erase this image caused by its Galaxy Note 7 and now they want to reassure that their devices are safe as latest Samsung Galaxy S8 smartphones are expected to arrive sometime in the first half of 2017.

Key members say it is critical for Samsung to provide a detailed explanation on why this damage was caused and how they will prevent it from recurring.

As reported by CNET, after 35 reported incidents of overheating smartphones worldwide, Samsung made the unprecedented decision to recall every Galaxy Note 7 sold. That is 1 million of the 2.5 million devices which were manufactured.

Samsung provided refunds and exchanges for Note 7 but it was not enough. As of October 10, some safe replacement phones also caught fire and Samsung asked all users to immediately shut down their phones. As of October 13, Samsung officially recalled every single Galaxy Note 7 including replacement devices.
