Advanced Micro Device (AMD) Inc. has recently confirmed the release date of its most awaited graphics cards. AMD Vega graphics cards will hit the tech market in the first half of this year. It is the best news from AMD for the enthusiasts who were indeed waiting for AMD Vega graphics cards.
According to Wccftech, AMD has designed the Vega GPUs for wide range of applications. The company has already demonstrated the Vega at various events including the CES 2017. It is reported that AMD showcased its Vega GPU running inside its Ryzen based desktop Personal computer.
It is also reported that the company will launch the AMD Vega GPUs along with the Ryzen processors at GDC and likely to be on May 30, 2017.
It is reported that the enthusiasts can expect high-end Vega 10 GPU in the first half of 2017. The chip will have a size of 500 mm2 and features two HBM2 stacks i.e. it is expected to sport second-gen high bandwidth memory (HBM2), incorporating up to 16 GB of HBM2. The device ID for the consumer variant is 687F:C1.
Also, it is reported that the graphics chip will be utilizing the latest 14nm GFX9 core architecture which is based on the NCU (Next Compute Engine) design. The graphics card will feature 64 Compute Units or 4096 stream processors.
According to Christian Times, the new graphics card from AMD should take up a battle with the upcoming NVIDIA GTX 1080Ti. It is reported that NVIDIA is expected to release its GTX 1080Ti in March. AMD Vega 10 is seen outperforming during the RRA GPU certificatin against the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti, which also underwent the same evaluation. The AMD GPU is reportedly seen giving more impressive performance than that of NVIDIA.
RRA is the National Radio Research Agency in South Korea which is responsible for conducting and approving products that are manufactured by Silicon-based companies before arriving into the market. It is also reported that the RRA certification has given a go signal for AMD to arrive into the market with Vega 10. However, there are also reports on Vega 11 GPU arriving along with the Vega 10.
