The Chicago Bulls is considered as one of the elite teams in the East in the past 8 seasons. They have reached the NBA playoffs in 7 of the last 8 seasons. And the only time they did not make the playoffs since acquiring former MVP Derrick Rose was last season. And they are very close at reaching the playoffs last season as they finished ninth.

But because the Bulls didn't make the playoffs last year, which was unexpected, they have done some major changes in the offseason. They let go of two of their main players Derrick Rose and Pau Gasol. Rose signed to New York Knicks while Gasol signed with the San Antonio Spurs. But in exchange, the Bulls acquired veteran players Dwyane Wade and Rajon Rondo.

But so far, the addition of Wade and Rondo hasn't taken the East by storm. Now at 19-21 win-loss record, they fall to fourth place in the Central Division and ninth in the Eastern Conference. And after having key wins against the Cleveland Cavaliers and Toronto Raptors, they now lost three consecutive games.

If the Bulls continues to struggle, there is a possibility that the Bulls might trade their star. And according to ESPN, Jimmy Butler to Boston Celtics might be possible.

The Celtics own the first-round pick of the Brooklyn Nets in 2017. As the Nets are currently the worst team in the NBA right now, that pick owned by Celtics could land as the first overall pick. Plus, the Celtics have enough assets to sign another superstar.

The Celtics have two stars on their roster in Isaiah Thomas and Al Horford. And at 24-15 win-loss record, they are third in the East with only 4.5 games behind Cleveland Cavaliers. If they wanted to challenge in the Cavs in the East, adding another superstar like Butler will increase their chances of winning.

Butler is averaging 14.8 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 361 career games. But this season, he is averaging a career high 25.0 points to go along with 6.7 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.7 steals, as per BASKETBALL REFERENCE. He is also a two-time All-Star and a three-time All-Defensive team.

The Celtics are going the best that they can to upgrade their roster so that they could have a better chance of dethroning the Cavs. Will the Celtics pursue Jimmy Butler?
