Ever since LeBron James came back to playing in Cleveland Cavaliers, the Cavs have become a championship caliber team. In the past two seasons, the reigning NBA Champs have a combined 110-54 win-loss record. They have reached the NBA Finals twice and won 1 NBA Championship title.

This season, the Cleveland Cavaliers are emerging as the top team for the East once again. With a 28-9 win-loss record, they are first in the Eastern Conference and fourth in the whole league. But they are struggling a little bit as they lost 2 of their last 4 games.

When the Cleveland Cavaliers lost the game to the Chicago Bulls 106-94, they were without All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving. And after the game, LeBron James told reporters that the Cavs need to have a veteran point guard on their lineup as per CBS Sports.

Last season, the Cavaliers have a quality backup point guard for Kyrie Irving. They have Matthew Dellavedova and Mo Williams on their roster. But Dellavedova moved to Milwaukee Bucks and Mo Williams was traded to the Atlanta Hawks.

But this season, it is clear that the Cavaliers did not have a quality backup point guard for Irving. The Cavs have Kay Fender and Jordan McRae as their backup point guard. But Fender is still just a rookie and McRae is not really a point guard.

Because of this, there are times that James or Iman Shumpert is handling the ball. And according to Cleveland.com, there is a possibility that the Cavs might acquire veteran point guard Rajon Rondo of the Chicago Bulls. It is said that the Cavs are keeping an eye on Rondo.

Rondo is averaging 10.8 points, 4.9 rebounds and 8.6 assists throughout his career. He is also a four-time NBA All-Star, four-time NBA All-Defensive Team and a member of the 2007-2008 NBA Champions Boston Celtics. But this season, he is only averaging 7.4 points, 6.4 rebounds and 7.1 assists.

And right now, he is moved from being a starter to being a backup point guard for the Bulls. And Rondo seems unhappy about moving off the bench. It is still unclear whether it's an indication that the Bulls are ready to move Rondo to another team. But there is a possibility.

And because of LeBron James vocal words about the Cavs' need for a veteran point guard, there is a possibility that Rondo might move in to Cleveland Cavaliers. Although Rondo is not in his best form right now, it is clear that he can be a quality backup point guard for Irving. With his skills and experience, he could be a good substitute when Irving was resting on the bench.

Rondo might be unhappy playing off the bench. But if it's a backup point guard role in a championship team like the Cavs, perhaps he would be happy.

The Cavs already add veteran sharpshooter in Kyle Korver. Will they also get veteran point guard Rajon Rondo?
