Since the 2007-2008 NBA season, the Atlanta Hawks always manage to reach the playoffs. But in the past two seasons, the Atlanta Hawks were knocked down by the NBA Champion Cleveland Cavaliers. The Cavs defeated the Hawks in Eastern Conference Finals in 2015 and in Eastern Semifinals last season.

And this season, it looks like the Hawks are on their way to their tenth consecutive playoff appearance. With a 22-16 win-loss record, they are first in Southeast division and fourth in the Eastern Conference. They have the longest active winning streak in the NBA so far as they won seven consecutive games.

The Atlanta Hawks have an up and down season. They started the season at 9-2. But since then they won only once in their next 11 games. And now they have a seven-game winning streak.

When they traded three-point specialist Kyle Korver, it looks like the Hawks are finally giving up this season and seems to be going to a rebuilding mode. Some analysts also believe that trading Paul Millsap will be just a formality.

But when they won seven straight games and went back to one of the top guns in the Eastern Conference, trading Millsap suddenly become a far-fetched plan. But with six weeks to go before the NBA trade deadline, trading Millsap elsewhere is still a possibility. And according to ESPN, Millsap might be a great fit to the Washington Wizards.

Now on his 11th NBA season, Millsap is averaging 14.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.0 block in 803 regular season games. But this season, he is averaging 17.6 points, 8.2 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.6 steals, per BASKETBALL REFERENCE.

The Washington Wizards are in the 8th spot in the East at 19-19. But they are just barely hanging in the top 8. For them to have a higher chance of making the playoffs this year, adding a veteran player like Millsap will be a good move.

The Washington Wizards have a great backcourt tandem in John Wall and Bradley Bill. They also have a decent center in Marcin Gortat. The position that they need an upgrade is in the power forward position.

If Millsap will be traded to the Wizards, he could be an instant boost to the team offensively and defensively. Millsap is a great scorer, rebounder and defender. With the way Wall and Beal getting a lot of attention from opposing teams, Millsap might have more opportunities to score.

If the Wizards will get Paul Millsap, they will surely make it to the playoffs. But will they really be interested in trading to get Millsap? And with the way things are right now, will the Hawks willing to give away one of their core players?
