There are several matches to look forward to this year at SummerSlam and one of the most highly-anticipated clashes will take place in the women's division.
Sasha Banks is set to defend the WWE Women's Championship against Charlotte in a match that could potentially steal the show this Sunday at the Barclays Center.
Banks and Charlotte had an epic match on "Monday Night RAW" last month which saw "The Boss" emerge victorious to capture the gold for the first time in her career. It was a shocking moment on the first post-WWE Draft edition of the flagship show, which started the New Era with a bang.
It was widely believed that Banks' win would be saved for SummerSlam, but now she walks into the Big Apple as the defending champion after that "RAW" shocker.
Here are three reasons why she should walk out of the borough of Brooklyn with the gold still intact.
1) Face Of The Women's Evolution
The WWE is pushing its women like never before and has refreshingly given them better storylines and longer match times. There are several young and talented ladies on the roster, but Banks seems to be the clear choice to carry the division into the upper echelon. Out of all the women in the WWE, Banks has the best character and even as a babyface, the confidence she exudes on the microphone is unparalleled.
Banks is also one of the best in-ring workers the WWE has and now that she's finally champion, those skills can be put on display like they were in her epic NXT clashes with Bayley. "The Boss" has the look, character and personality to be the top dog in the Divas division for years to come.
2) Been There, Done That
While Banks is one of the best all-around Superstars in the game, Charlotte is easily the most athletically-gifted. Ric Flair's daughter is very impressive from an athletic standpoint, which is why Sunday's match should be very good. Though Charlotte is a great athlete and even better as a heel, the WWE gave her a very long reign with the title already, so it's time to have a fresh face on top of the heap.
3) Bank(s)rupt
The WWE will harm all of the momentum it has given Banks if it has her drop the title so quickly. Charlotte held the Divas/Women's Championship from Night of Champions in September 2015 through the July 25, 2016, episode of "RAW." Banks will be on just Day 27 of her reign when she enters the Barclays Center on Sunday.
There was a lot of damage to Banks on the main roster early on as despite putting on a great match with Charlotte and Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 32, she was lost in the shuffle following the biggest event of the year. She has finally built herself back up into being the future of the division and a loss in her first high-profile defense at SummerSlam could damage her going forward.
