As he gets ready for the NFL season, Tom Brady isn't exactly buzzing with American pride.

The Patriots quarterback admitted he hasn't watched much of the Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, except for the Opening Ceremonies. Brady's wife, model Gisele Bundchen, is a native of Brazil and took part in the opening night of the Olympics, strutting her stuff to ring in the competition.

Brady heaped praise on his wife for her involvement in the ceremonyand noted that it was his favorite part of the Summer Olympics thus far -- not that he's watched anything else.

"It was amazing to see her out there and do that," Brady said, according to TheScore.com. "It was the best part of the Olympics for me, and it got over on opening night, so there hasn't been much reason for me to watch outside of seeing her represent her country."

While Brady hasn't been watching, Team USA has had a great run through the Olympics so far. The United States has racked up 69 medals entering Monday -- which includes 26 gold, 21 silver and 22 bronze.

Brady is busy preparing for the upcoming NFL season, though he'll sit out the first four games serving a Deflategate suspension. The four-time Super Bowl champion appealed the punishment twice, but after a 2nd Circuit Court opted against turning over the ruling, he announced on Facebook that he'd accept the four-game ban.

In Brady's absence, Jimmy Garoppolo will take the reins to the offense under center for Weeks 1-4. New England opens up its season in Arizona against the Cardinals on Sept. 11.

The Patriots signal caller had a lot of ups and downs with Bundchen, whom he married in 2009.

Divorce rumors surrounded the couple, but.Brady recently downplayed any issues between them.

"[We've] been through a lot of ups and downs together," Brady told 'Access Hollywood' in June, "and in so many ways that built [the] relationship. We all have our challenges that we face in our life. And it's great to have that rock that you can always lean on that can support you in different ways that you need to."

Brady and Bundchen also recently purchased a New York City apartment overlooking Manhattan that costs over $20 million.

The love for his wife is so strong that Brady actually watched the Olympics just to see her and had nothing but compliments for her afterward.

"It's pretty amazing, she's an amazing woman, an amazing mother, and she represents the best of Brazil, as far as I'm concerned," he said. "It was a pretty amazing spectacle and she's an amazing person."
