Not many people support CM Punk's attempt to enter the Octagon, but he certainly has encouragement from his wife.

The former WWE Superstar is set to make his long-awaited UFC debut on Sept. 10 at UFC 203 in Cleveland when he takes on Mickey Gall. Punk's wife, AJ Lee, whom he met in the WWE before they both left, has been by his side throughout his training to enter the Octagon.

In the buildup to his long-awaited debut, Punk will be featured in a four-part FS1 documentary "Evolution of Punk," which will air every Monday night leading up to the fight. The film is set to begin airing on Aug. 15.

The documentary will chronicle Punk's road to the Octagon, which was hit with many setbacks -- most recently back surgery -- and his training for his first real fight.

Lee took to Twitter to express her "pride" and support of her husband for being in the documentary and heading into the cage to take on the 24-year-old Gall:

Punk stormed out of the WWE back in January 2014 amid his myriad frustrations with the company.

He then signed with UFC that December, but was met with many setbacks. There were reports Punk wasn't doing well in training as well, but he's still set to compete on Sept. 10

Gall is 2-0 in the UFC and has a lot of fighting experience, while Punk will be taking part in the first MMA fight of his career. Punk believes they are evenly matched except for in the experience department.

As for Lee, she retired from the WWE shortly after WrestleMania 31 in March 2015, mostly due to the ongoing legal battle between her husband and the company's doctor, Chris Amann.

Punk blasted Dr. Amann and many WWE executives, saying the physician misdiagnosed him on several occasions.. Dr. Amann countered with a defamation lawsuit against the former WWE Champion.

Lee remained with the WWE for over a year after her husband quit, but she opted to walk away after the lawsuit came to light.

As Punk continues to get ready for his first fight, Lee is in the middle of promoting her book, "Crazy Is My Superpower: How I Triumphed By Breaking Bones, Breaking Hearts, and Breaking the Rules," which is due out next spring.

Lee and Punk have kept plenty busy since walking away from the WWE.
