Some of cycling's very best are set to go head-to-head as part of the Rio Summer Olympic Games on Saturday.

The cyclists are prepared to go head-to-head in a 236 km race an estimated elevation of 3,600 m. Some nations in this race have an edge as Belgium, Spain, Italy, Great Britain and Colombia all boast five racers, while many other countries come in with four or less.

Great Britain's Chris Froome enters the big race as one of the favorites to win it all. Froome is a Tour de France champion, but he believes his fellow countryman and teammate Steve Cummings has a shot of winning this race.

"We have to put it together on the road and put our egos aside and try to get a medal," Froome told BBC. "We have a team here that is able to adapt on the road and react to the different situations that unfold. If we can get him [Cummings] in a breakaway, we don't have to use our energy chasing and if no-one else chases then he can ride away and win the Olympics."

Cummings is a two-time Tour de France stage winner.

Spain also has its fair share of favorites, which include Joaquim Rodriguez, Ion Izagirre, who recently won the Tour de France stage and Alejandro Valverde -- who may be the favorite among the three to medal.
