Hope Solo was greeted rudely at the Rio Olympics, but she doesn't really care.

The Team USA goalie was peppered with chants of "Zika! Zika!" during her team's game against New Zealand to open up their Olympic play.

Solo wasn't bothered by those among the 10,000 fans that jeered her at the 60,000-capacity Mineirao Stadium on Wednesday.

''I'm glad the fans had fun,'' Solo said, according to ABC News. ''And if they had fun at my expense, more power to them.''

Solo drew the ire of some natives of Brazil when she posted a photo on Twitter of herself armed with mosquito repellent and a netted mask to ward off the potential Zika virus:

Prior to the Summer Games, Solo apologized to those she offended with the tweet, saying the American media made a big deal out of the conditions and Zika virus. She admitted it was ''really tough on people of Brazil.''

Though she didn't realize what the fans were chanting during the match, she seemed unfazed by it when the game came to an end.

After the final whistle of the game, Solo still was getting surrounded by the jeers, something Team USA head coach Jill Ellis hopes isn't replicated throughout the tournament.

''That's something hopefully they will put behind them and realize that Hope has apologized to the Brazilian people,'' Ellis said about the fans. ''Sometimes mistakes are made. We are used to getting booed in other countries, so that part of it is not foreign. I hope the Brazilian people appreciate what we are trying to do with the ball and move past that.''

The United States will play Colombia on Aug. 9 to open up their schedule in earnest.
