The Cowboys are in the hunt for a new backup quarterback.

Kellen Moore suffered a broken right fibula during practice Tuesday, putting Dallas on the search to find a new backup to spell Tony Romo this season. The Cowboys are left with Jameill Showers and rookie Dak Prescott as their current backup options.

Last year, Romo missed 12 games and the Cowboys went 1-11 with combinations of Moore, Matt Cassel and Brandon Weeden under center and 3-1 when their No. 1 quarterback was healthy. Dallas no longer has Cassel and Weeden and with Moore sidelined, the team is in need of a new backup signal caller.

Here are three options for the Cowboys to backup Romo in 2016.

1) Josh McCown

The Browns veteran quarterback is on Dallas' radar, though it's uncertain whether or not Cleveland is ready to part ways with the signal caller, according to CBS Sports. The Browns currently have Robert Griffin, McCown, Cody Kessler and Austin Davis on their quarterback depth chart, so it would all depend on their willingness to get rid of one of their options under center.

McCown, 37, threw to a 63.7 completion percentage in eight games last season while throwing for 2,109 yards with 12 touchdowns and four interceptions.

2) Mike Glennon

The Bucs quarterback is also on the Cowboys' radar, according to USA Today Sports. The Buccaneers could be willing to part ways with their backup quarterback since Jameis Winston is locked into the starting role and Ryan Griffin is also on the depth chart.

Glennon, 26, has appeared in 19 games in his career and has thrown to a 58.8 completion percentage and for 4,025 yards with 29 scores and 15 picks. In eight games last season, he threw for 1,417 yards with 10 touchdowns and six interceptions.

3) Johnny Manziel

This is a wild card pick, but Johnny Football has long had the respect of Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones, who came close to drafting him originally. Manziel is in many ways a dumpster fire as he has had difficulty staying away from the party scene and was recently indicted by a Dallas jury for an alleged domestic altercation with his ex-girlfriend, model Colleen Crowley.

Manziel, 23, was cut by the Browns back in March and partied for the majority of the year, but he recently vowed to stay sober and pursue an NFL career again. The quarterback owns a 57.0 completion percentage through 15 career games and has thrown for 1,675 yards with seven touchdowns and seven interceptions. As a starter last season, Manziel threw for 1,500 yards with seven scores and five picks in 10 games.

Jones has always been open about his affinity for the former Heisman Trophy winner despite his troubles.

"I have the same impression that when he came out of A&M of what his potential is as a football player," Jones told Peter King of Sports Illustrated back in May. "I haven't changed my opinion of how exciting of a player that he is, how unique a player that he is."
