Roman Reigns ... John Cena ... Sasha Banks?

"The Boss" became the WWE Women's Champion on this week's edition of "Monday Night RAW," dethroning Charlotte on the first edition of the flagship show since the WWE Draft and subsequent brand extension.

Many fans thought it was high time that Banks was given her moment to shine after putting women's wrestling on the map in NXT and emerging as the most over ladies Superstar on the main roster. Not everyone shares that sentiment, however.

WWE legend Animal of Legion of Doom fame, recently took aim at Banks' mega push, which included her being chosen to be put on the cover of "Muscle and Fitness Hers" magazine.

The former tag team star said he believed the WWE was shoving Banks down people's throats, which is the same thing the company has been accused of doing with Reigns and Cena for years.

"How much does WWE pay Muscle and Fitness to put there own on the cover," Animal wrote on Facebook, using the wrong form of 'their.' "Common Sasha Banks another attempt to shove someone down people's throats. Let them get over themselves how bout that. Get real."

Animal's comments seem very off-base as Banks organically got over, unlike Reigns, and still remains over with the majority of the fans, unlike Cena.

"The Boss" also had to jump through hoops to get recognized on the main roster, disappearing for a significant amount of time following WrestleMania 32, where she didn't win the title as expected.

An injury partially had something to do with Banks missing time, however, her own tweets hinted that she wasn't being utilized for some other reason. The WWE finally took her out of captivity last month and then awarded her the Women's Championship this week on "RAW."

It was a well-deserved win for Banks, who hasn't been utilized to her full potential on the main roster after tearing the house down with Bayley at NXT. It was believed Banks' big moment would be preserved for SummerSlam on Aug. 21 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, but it came early.

The WWE has had a terrible knack of shoving Superstars down people's throats, but Banks isn't one of them.

Reigns has never been over, still needs vast improvement in the ring and on the microphone, yet the WWE gave him three separate reigns with the richest prize in the game already, only to get spurned by a wellness policy violation.

Cena is the WWE's Superman, and his work ethic, in-ring prowess and ability to have a good match with just about any caliber Superstar warrant the WWE's prior push. They were right about Cena even if the staleness of his character and the Super Cena shtick was taxing on many viewers.

He's also the No. 1 merchandise mover and "Make-A-Wish" granter in the company.

Banks is a rare babyface who smarks and marks each rally behind and she has previously displayed why the WWE should have faith in her.

The thing is, the faith the WWE has in her didn't come full circle until this past Monday night, so it's hard to see why Animal would think she's been shoved down everyone's throats.

Especially when, if anything, she's been held back without reason until recently.
