Many faces could end up in new places as the MLB non-waiver trade deadline is looming on Monday.

There are plenty of big names who could be on the move as contending teams look to buy in order to position themselves well for potential playoff runs and teams that aren't in the mix look to sell off their assets as a way to build toward the future.

With the deadline rapidly approaching, there have been several rumors throughout the league about players who could be on the move.

Here are five stars who could end up in new places come Monday's deadline. To view this article in slideshow form, CLICK START at the top right of this page.

1) Carlos Gonzalez, Rockies OF

Gonzalez, 30, is under contract through 2017 and is in the midst of a seven-year, $80 million contract. The Rockies slugger is having a tremendous year and owns a .317/.370/.544 slash line with 20 homers and 62 RBIs. The outfielder ranks third in the NL with 66 runs and fourth with 120 hits.

One knock on Gonzalez could be the fact that he plays his home games at Coors Field. Gonzalez is hitting .359 with 15 homers and 45 RBIs in 47 home games compared to his .277 average, five homers and 17 RBIs on the road in 50 contests this season.

The Rockies enter Thursday 10 games behind the first-place Giants in the NL West and six games back in the Wild Card.

2) Evan Longoria, Rays 3B

Longoria, 30, will be a free agent at the end of this season. The Rays third baseman is slashing .292/.340/.545 with 23 homers and 57 RBIs this season. Longoria's name has popped up in several trade talks throughout the season.

The Rays enter Thursday trailing the first-place Orioles by 19 games in the AL East and are 16.5 games out of a Wild Card spot.

3) Jonathan Lucroy, Brewers C

Lucroy, 30, is currently playing through a five-year, $11 million contract and will hit free agency in 2018. The Brewers catcher is having a monstrous year, hitting .300/.361/.486 with 13 homers and 50 RBIs. Lucroy is one of the last remaining big trade pieces the rebuilding Brewers have and this could be the year they deal him.

The Brewers enter Thursday 16.5 games behind the NL Central-leading Cubs and 11 games out of a Wild Card spot.

4) Rich Hill, Athletics LHP

Hill, 36, has drawn a lot of interest, though problems with a blister could cause teams to be cautious about requiring him and the A's are reportedly asking for a lot in return. The Oakland left-hander will hit free agency at the end of the season and is playing through a one-year, $6 million contract.

Hill is 9-3 this season with a 2.25 ERA through 14 starts along with a 1.092 WHIP and 90 strikeouts. The Athletics enter Thursday 11 games behind the first-place Rangers in the AL West and 9.5 games out of a Wild Card spot.

5) Jay Bruce, Reds OF

Bruce, 29, is no stranger to trade rumors this time of year and once again with the deadline approaching, he has received a lot of buzz. The Reds outfielder owns a .271/.323/.572 slash line with 25 homers and an NL-leading 79 RBIs. His 25 long balls rank tied for third in the NL.

The slugger is under contract until 2018 and is currently playing through a six-year, $51 million pact. Bruce is third in the NL in triples (6, tied), fourth in total bases (227, tied) and fifth in slugging percentage (.572).

The Reds enter Thursday dead last in the NL Central, 20.5 games behind the Cubs, and 15 games out of a Wild Card spot.
