Dolph Ziggler is headed to SummerSlam for a huge match with Dean Ambrose.

"The Showoff" defeated Bray Wyatt, Baron Corbin, John Cena, AJ Styles and Apollo Crews in a six pack challenge on "SmackDown" to earn the right to battle "The Lunatic Fringe" for the WWE Championship at SummerSlam on Aug. 21 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Ziggler is a great choice of an opponent for Ambrose for many reasons. Here are three reasons why Ziggler should face-off with Ambrose at "The Biggest Event of the Summer."

1) Fresh Matchup

Ambrose has had many feuds throughout his career, but he's never had a long-term program with Ziggler before, providing an interesting new dynamic and challenge for the "Lunatic Fringe." With Styles and Cena set to continue their feud, Corbin and Crews not quite over enough yet and Wyatt having a rich history of feuding with Ambrose, Ziggler was the most interesting pick to win out of the six combatants due to the uniqueness a matchup between him and Ambrose provides.

2) Overdue Push

Ziggler is a two-time World Heavyweight Champion, but he hasn't held the richest prize in the game since 2013 when an injury derailed his second reign. Before that, he was on top of the company for just one night as its champion. "The Showoff" has been kept away from the title scene for the last few years, but he deserves a shot to prove he's one of the best in-ring workers in the business on a grand stage. Ziggler has been relegated to midcard duties, which has seen him pick up one United States Championship reign and four Intercontinental Championship reigns.

3) Split Success

If the WWE wants to make the brand extension interesting and use it to build new stars, it's off to a great start. Finn Balor is set to battle Seth Rollins for the Universal Championship at SummerSlam, while Ziggler and Ambrose provides and equally compelling match for the Blue Brand. With SummerSlam being the first full-on show following the Draft, the company has a strong card in the works already.
