WWE 'SummerSlam' 2016 Rumors & Predictions: 5 Potential Matches For 'Biggest Event Of The Summer'

It's been a busy time in the WWE, but now that the Draft and Battleground are over, the attention turns to SummerSlam.

The "Biggest Event of the Summer" emanates live from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Aug. 21. So far, two matches have been announced as Brock Lesnar is set to face Randy Orton, and Seth Rollins will battle Finn Balor for the WWE Championship.

Here are five more contests the WWE could potetially put on for the show.

WWE Championship: Dean Ambrose (c) vs. Bray Wyatt

With John Cena likely wrapped up in another bout with AJ Styles, "The Lunatic Fringe" doesn't have many enticing options to battle on the "SmackDown" brand. Rekindling his rivalry with the "Eater of Worlds" -- who could be due for a big push -- may be a good idea, especially in the main event picture.

WWE United States Championship: Rusev (c) w/ Lana vs. Sami Zayn

Zayn just picked up a huge win over Kevin Owens and it could be time for the WWE to push him into a midcard title scene. The former NXT Champion would make a perfect foil for Rusev, who was feuding with Zack Ryder and Mojo Rawley prior to Ryder being drafted to "SmackDown."

WWE Tag Team Championship Turmoil Match: The New Day (c) vs. Enzo & Cass vs. American Alpha vs. The Club vs. The Usos vs. The Ascension

The WWE could maintain one Tag Team Championship and have three teams from "RAW" and three teams from "SmackDown" battle over it. The New Day will reach the record for longest tag title holders and then have one of their greatest challenges as champions.

Steel Cage Match: John Cena vs. AJ Styles

The "Phenomenal One" defeated the "Cenation" leader at Money in the Bank, but the face of the franchise got some retribution when he teamed with Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady at "Battleground." Styles and Cena are both on "SmackDown," so it's only logical that their feud should continue. Adding the stipulation of a Steel Cage stipulation would keep things fresh and make it more compelling.

WWE Women's Championship 2 out of 3 Falls: Charlotte w/ Dana Brooke vs. Sasha Banks (c) w/ Bayley

"The Boss" had her moment to shine on "RAW" this week, but Charlotte will be due a rematch for the Women's Championship. Charlotte will be seconded by Brooke, while Bayley will be in support of her friend in Banks. Adding a two out of three falls stipulation puts more of an emphasis on the match and the title.
