Jameis Winston's new and improved body will hopefully help him stave off a sophomore slump.

Heading into this offseason, the former Heisman Trophy winner vowed to get into better shape, and it seems he's done so in spades. In fact, Winston shredded his gut in favor of a six pack, according to one of his teammates.

"He lost a lot of weight. He slimmed out," receiver Mike Evans said Tuesday per Terez Owens. "I was joking with him the other day. He took his shirt off, and I said 'Man, what happened to the belly?' He's got a six-pack like me. He's put in a tremendous amount of work and I think it's going to be a great year for him and this whole team."

In year one, Winston, 22, went 312-for-535 (58.3 percent) for 4,042 yards with 22 touchdowns and 15 interceptions. The Buccaneers finished 6-10 and in fourth place in the NFC South for the fifth straight season. Tampa Bay hasn't made the postseason since 2007.

One person who must be proud of Winston for his weight loss is his girlfriend, Breion Allen. Allen, who played basketball at Rice University, took some glamour shots of her man recently, which he posted on Instagram, but he admitted he needed to work on getting in shape.

"Blessed," Winston told TMZ at the Madden Live Party in California in February. "[Breion] took that. Yeah definitely [I can model], I just gotta lose a little weight, but I'm very dapper. I am very dapper."

Winston was certainly taken by his girlfriend's body during that interview and "Famous Jameis" said she should be the model out of the two of them.

"If I am proposed that opportunity, I'm just gonna go ahead and slide the invitation to this beautiful girl right here," Winston said about Allen. "You know, she's model type. Got the body, got the smile."

Winston and Allen are connected to each other and to their faith as evidenced by the couple getting baptized together in March.

The quarterback was committed to getting in shape and with offseason programs starting last week, it looks like he's done everything he can to avoid a sophomore slump.
