Adrien Broner recently called out Floyd Mayweather, but veteran boxer Juan Manuel Marquez thinks a Mayweather-Broner fight will not be an interesting showdown.

When asked about the possible Mayweather-Broner fight, Marquez told Fighthype that it will be a boring showdown because both have uninteresting fighting style.

"Tell me, what do you think of this fight? I think it is a boring fight," Marquez said on Saturday. "The styles. When you want to fight a great fight look at the style of the fighter. Broner doesn't like to fight. Mayweather doesn't like to fight. What kind of fight would we see?"

Broner, who owns a 32-2 record with 24 knockout victories, is coming off a ninth round knockout win against Ashley Theophane during their junior welterweight showdown on April 1 in Washington.

After the fight, Broner called out Mayweather after the former pound-for-pound king threw barbs at him days before his fight against Theophane, who is under Mayweather Promotions. The 26-year-old Ohio native said that Mayweather will not be 50-0 if the unbeaten champion decides to face him.

However, Mayweather played down the challenge and even said that it was the "biggest joke" he heard during that day. The 29-year-old boxing superstar said that he is not planning to return anytime soon, telling reporters that he is actually thinking of promoting mixed martial arts fights.

"They want me back," Mayweather said, when asked about a possible comeback to chase his 50th win. "It's time for me to start promoting fights for the MMA. I'm ready to get involved with that business now."

Another veteran boxer, former world champion Shane Mosley, also expressed doubt over the possibility of the Mayweather-Broner bout, saying that the two might collide, but only in a sparring session.

Mayweather, who is considered by many as the greatest fighter in boxing history, retired after scoring a unanimous decision win against Andre Berto in September last year.
