As the D'Angelo Russell-Nick Young video blame game continues, it's time to throw the names Iggy Azalea and Nicki Minaj into the equation.
Minaj apparently was upset over comments Azalea made to Bravo's Andy Cohen, and someone from her camp got a hold of the video. Fameolous.com, the media outlet that originally posted the video, explained the situation.
Cheater Nick Young Deserves As Much Blame As D'Angelo Russell For Incident
"The truth behind the D'Angelo Russell is that Iggy Azalea words about Nicki Minaj are the caused of this entire ordeal," Fameolous.com reported. "To be clear, Nicki Minaj herself never made contact with Fameolous.com about the video. An alleged source from Nicki's team sent us the video out of frustration after Iggy Azalea BravoTv interview with viral. Iggy Azalea interview hit online March 23, 2016, and we got the leaked video March 23 at 3 am for it to be released immediately. The video is months old and was stolen by D'Angelo Russell's ex-girlfriend. The video was uploaded to (Snapchat), and someone who claimed to have associations with Nicki's team took the video. The video got leaked due to Iggy Azalea interview with Bravo concerning Nicki Minaj writing her raps.
"The next day the video was leaked to us."
Lakers Have Reason To Explore Trading D'Angelo Russell
Russell addressed the media on Wednesday and repeatedly stated that he didn't know how the video was uploaded to Snapchat, and Fameolous.com did not mention the name of the ex-girlfriend.
Fameolous posted the interview that Azalea conducted with Bravo, and her comments were fairly innocuous.
The Australian rapper was asked about comments Minaj made at the 2014 BET Awards saying she wrote her own lyrics and whether Azalea felt that was directed at her.
"I have just as many people on my writing credits as she has on hers," Azalea said. "I know I write mine; if she writes hers, I believe her, too. But you can't look at the credits and be like, 'Oh, look at this massive difference!' It's the same number of people on both."
The situation remains bizarre with no immediate end in sight.
