John Cena may have a little too much time on his hands now that he's away from the squared circle.

The "Cenation" leader has played coy with his WrestleMania status by saying he plans to "defy science" by returning for the April 3 event with a series of cryptic tweets.

Cena, who had surgery to repair an injured shoulder in January, revealed at the WrestleMania 33 press conference on Monday that he wouldn't be fit to return this year.

"For the first time in a decade in a half, this year I will be watching WrestleMania," Cena said per WrestlingInc. "WrestleMania means the world to me."

So that was it. Cena is not going to be at AT&T Stadium in Texas come April 3. Or is he?

Just one day after saying that, Cena was back at it, playing games via Twitter about his status.

Vince McMahon was asked about his thoughts on Cena missing the "Show of Shows" for the first time in 2003 and didn't give a specific answer to the question.

"John is Babe Ruth, he's everything to us," McMahon told the Orlando Sentinel. "And a real warrior. I don't know how long he's going to pursue this ... I don't know if it's going to be 70 like me, but he'll try. It's just in him and he loves it so much, even when he was a little kid. I don't know if you've seen some of the videos where he'd have a mini-championship belt made out of cardboard and all that kind of stuff. And on top of it, he's a hell of a guy."

Come WrestleMania 32, it will finally be time to see if Cena will return or if he's just trolling the fans.
