Tonight at 9 p.m. ET on ESPN, the 30 for 30 series will continue with its latest installment, which will talk about the 1985 Super Bowl champion Chicago Bears. The’85 Bears were well-stocked with personalities, ranging from the prideful Hall of Fame running back Walter Payton, irascible head coach Mike Ditka, all the way to massive defensive tackle William “Refridgerator” Perry, one of the silkiest dancers to ever play defensive line.

Much of the story of the ’85 Bears will revolve around their leadership, namely Ditka and defensive coordinator Buddy Ryan, who fathered two of the NFL’s most talked-about current coaches Rex and Rob Ryan, who are both now on the Bills’ staff.

Defensive tackle Steve McMichael says in the documentary, "Never, never, never again will that many characters be amassed on a team. Even our third-string quarterback, Mike Tomczak, who was a rookie at the time, had a radio show."

The 1985 Bears had as much talent as “characters.” They featured four first-team All-Pros – Richard Dent, McMichael, Mike Singletary, and Payton – three of whom were linchpins of Ryan’s defense. Dent was the star, piling up 17 ½ of Chicago’s 64 sacks.

"It was take-no-prisoners," Ditka said. "These guys went out and played football. It wasn't buddy-buddy. They weren't patting people on the back; they were knocking them down. That's what they did and that's how we played. We were the bully on the block."
