Alberto Del Rio finds himself without an opponent for Royal Rumble after John Cena was ruled out on account of a shoulder injury.

The injury means a whole lot more than the United States title, but just the same, Del Rio needs an opponent.

WWE Can Save 'WrestleMania 32' Despite Injuries To Top Talent

And apparently that could soon be filled, as Wrestling News Post speculated, as Kalisto would be getting a chance to pry the title away from his co-Hispanic star.

All these stemmed from the fact that Kalisto pulled on over Del Rio at WWE Smackdown, perhaps one of the biggest wins of his WWE career. Though nothing has been made official for now, it seems that it will have to do with no other WWE star really tied up with Del Rio or the US title for that matter.

With that said, expect an official announcement in the coming weeks where a Del Rio vs. Kalisto match may be announced as one of the matches for the 2016 edition of the Royal Rumble.

Booking Del Rio and Kalisto makes sense since the WWE was finding ways to build its Hispanic following as mentioned before via dailyddt.com. Apparently this was one reason why Del Rio was signed up and a match with Kalisto should be perfect to address that angle.

If the two face off, could they be in the 30-man battle royal as well? Right now there are only a handful of names (Big Show, Curtis Axel and of course Roman Reigns) confirmed for the rumble. Seeing these two among the participants wouldn’t come as a surprise.
