As if watching the talent level of soccer in America wasn’t funny enough, Will Ferrell was introduced as a co-owner of Los Angeles FC on Thursday.

Alan Pulido Receiving Offers From MLS

MLS’ twentieth-something club unveiled its logo and colors inside Union Station in downtown Los Angeles. In a league where so many clubs miss opportunities -- just ask a stadium-less NYCFC -- LAFC passed their first test with flying colors.

Black-and-gold colors to be exact.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic Should Sign For This MLS Expansion Team

Ferrell’s announcement was the cherry on top.

Ferrell joins a laundry list of LAFC co-owners that includes Mia Hamm, Magic Johnson Nomar Garciaparra and Tony Robbins. Brandon Beck -- the co-founder of Riot Games -- was also announced, but no one seemed to care.

Thursday was all about Ferrell and what he can bring to MLS.

Whether it’s announcing the starting XI at a stadium near you …

Throwing balls at unsuspecting cheerleaders …

Or knocking down opposing players to gain an edge on the pitch ...

Ferrell will bring comedic value to a league whose obscure rules already serve as the proverbial punchline.
