UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor has been named to Rolling Stone’s Top 25 sexy symbols of 2015 list. McGregor is an unorthodox – but worthy – choice based on Rolling Stone’s criteria, which they list as “the men and women who made their mark on 2015, and looked good doing it.

With that, here are five other athletes who probably should have made the cut.

Saul “Canelo” Alvarez, Boxer

Alvarez not only became the lineal middleweight champion of the world, he did it vs. a future Hall of Famer in Miguel Cotto, in the second-biggest boxing match of the year. Alvarez, who has 48 professional bouts under his belt, is just 25 years old and has now staked his claim as the biggest draw in boxing.

Unless Floyd Mayweather Jr. unretires, Alvarez is now the PPV king of the sport. He won twice in 2015, and has a super fight lined up against the scariest knockout artist in boxing, Gennady “GGG” Golovkin, coming up. He’s also a fair-skinned, red-headed Mexican who reminds boxing observers of his mentor, Oscar De La Hoya. Movie star looks and knockout power warrant strong consideration.

Giancarlo Stanton, OF, Marlins

The Marlins didn’t do much in 2015, but their star outfielder Giancarlo Stanton made himself the highest-paid player in baseball history. Stanton left Alex Rodriguez in the dust, inking a massive 13-year, $325 million contract, keeping him in South Beach until 2028.

Stanton is a hulking slugger, with movie star looks who spends summers in Miami. It’s a shock this man didn’t make the list.

Tyler Seguin, C, Stars

This 23-year-old Canadian has the bad boy rep that appeals to so many people, and he’s the goods on the ice. Seguin, who was shockingly traded in 2013 by the Bruins because they felt he was too immature to be the face of the franchise.

Whoops!

Seguin has been incredible for the Stars, scoring 50 points (23 goals, 27 assists) this season, and racking up 211 in his Stars career. He and his teammate Jamie Benn have Dallas atop the Western Conference, with the second-best record in the NHL.

Russell Wilson, QB, Seahawks

Wilson was one play away from winning his second straight Super Bowl in 2015, finished the current regular season as the hottest player in football, and makes daily headlines for dating Ciara, one of the hottest women in music.

And get this…he’s held on to Ciara despite remaining celibate. That’s right, people often want what they can’t have, and Ciara clearly can’t have Russ in that way. But she’s stuck by him, meaning his magnetism is greater than most. Wilson’s character, and resistance to carnal pleasures, make him possibly the sexiest person on this list.

Holly Holm, UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion

This spot is typically reserved for Ronda Rousey, but if we’re talking impact, Holm made arguably the greatest impact in combat sports since Buster Douglas KO’d Mike Tyson. Holm rocked Rousey and authored one of the greatest upsets in the history of the UFC.

And she ain’t half bad to look at either. Holm’s omission from Rolling Stone’s list is egregious.
