Losing despite giving it your best can be frustrating and sometimes lead competitors to make impulsive decisions.
And it seems that Carlos Condit has done just that with word that he is possibly considering retirement after losing a controversial decision to the reigning champion Robbie Lawler at UFC 195 per,Bleacher Report.
Ronda Rousey, Serena Williams Contend For 2015's Biggest Upset Victim
Condit gave it his all but his performance ended up in futility with the judges deciding to declare Lawler the winner. The fight was close, though many of the folks who saw the fight felt that Condit was the clear winner.
While he denies that his move to consider retirement is not an emotional one, it is obvious that Condit is down and frustrated at the results of the fight. In fact, Lawler even said during the post-fight interview that he was willing to do a rematch to egg Condit to carry on. That noble gesture remains to be seen, of course.
Holly Holm Should Have Her Own Beer To Commemorate Ronda Rousey KO
One can only imagine how Condit feels right now. For someone who made almost double the significant strikes of his opponent (Condit’s 176 against Lawler’s 92), one can just imagine the disappointment and hurt he is feeling right now.
While Condit ponders his plans, next up for Lawler is Tyron Woodley per the Bloody Elbow. The No. 2 welterweight was to meet the winner of the Lawler vs. Condit fight and the only way that this could be muddled is if a rematch would be made.
Just spoke with @danawhite and he said @TWooodley will get the title shot next, fighting Lawler-Condit winner. My post will be live soon.
