The Detroit Pistons and Pacers have been known to hate each other, something that stemmed from an infamous brawl in 2004.

That 2004 incident started with then-Pacer Ron Artest fouled Pistons center Ben Wallace at the The Palace of Auburn Hills in Detroit. As seen in the video below, it was not that hard of a foul, despite giving “Big Ben” reason to charge back at Artest.

But the ugly scene escalated when a fan threw a drink at Artest, who was at that point lying on the scorer’s table. Artest took exception and charged at the fan as he and then-teammate Stephen Jackson started a massive brawl. The Pacers went on to win that ugly match, 97-82.

The rivalry has obviously not died down and this time it is Paul George at the center of things.

With time winding down and the Pacers comfortably ahead, 94-82, George tried to make an unnecessary steal attempt with only about three seconds to go against Reggie Jackson.

With the ball loose, Marcus Morris tried to shield away George for obvious reasons, but it was the post game face-off between George and Morris that almost sparked another possible brawl over at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

George got into the face of Morris and it led to the latter shoving back PG 13. The scuffle instigated players from both teams to leave the bench and join the melee, but thankfully their intentions were to keep the issue from escalating to another ugly scene.

It remains to be seen what penalties or sanctions the NBA would be meting out for this one, though ttheir may be hefty fines on both Morris and George (yet again).
