There's nothing wrong with being a proud father, you just have to pick and choose your moments. Rex Ryan is choosing the wrong moment.

The Bills coach -- whose son Seth Ryan plays for Clemson -- couldn't help himself after the program undressed Oklahoma 37-17 in the Orange Bowl on Thursday.

Rex Ryan Tried To Give J.J. Watt A Disease

"If you would've saw me this [Friday] morning, I was decked out in all orange, just like I was yesterday when I left the building," said Ryan, per Newsday. "Very excited.

"It is kind of cool having my son ... I don't care how little he plays. Just the fact he's out there playing for the national championship is pretty awesome."

Coaches Who Won't Survive Black Monday

"Little" isn't the word to describe Seth's playing time.

He's a WR who caught one ball for 10 yards all year. Rex could skip a Tigers game and no one would even notice.

With the Jets coming to town on Sunday and his job potentially on the line, that's exactly what Rex should've done this holiday season.

To say things haven't gone well in Buffalo is an understatement. What was supposed to be a promising season after last year's 9-7 finish quickly deteriorated to the same mediocre football synonymous with Ryan's coaching career.

He's either one win from his third 8-8 season, or one loss from his third losing record. Not exactly an impressive resume.

Rex will have plenty of time to celebrate his son's "achievements" in the offseason. In the meantime, he's better off taking care of much-needed business on Sunday.
