For Brandon Weeden, revenge is the best motivator.

The quarterback is trying to help the Texans clinch a playoff berth, but the fact that the Cowboys released him isn't far from his mind. Weeden began the season with Dallas, but was claimed by Houston after Jerry Jones' team uncermoniously cut him.

Now, with the Texans (8-7) jockeying for a playoff spot in the AFC and the Cowboys (4-11) playing out the end of their schedule with nothing to play for, Weeden is reveling in getting the last laugh.

The singal caller appeared on Oklahoma radio station 107.7 and was asked if it was "extra satisfying" to see the two teams going in different directions.

"I mean, yeah. Absolutely," Weeden said, according to Yahoo Sports. "We get to play extra football and he'll be watching on his couch. That's what it's all about. We're playing for something, and this is a fun time of the year."

Weeden was thrust into the starting role for the Cowboys after Tony Romo's first collarbone injury, but as the team continued to lose around him, Jones lost his faith in him. With the Cowboys 0-3 in Weeden's starts, he was benched in favor of Matt Cassel, and eventually let-go.

He eventually found another opportunity to start in Houston. Weeden led the Texans to a dominant 34-6 victory over the Titans on Sunday in which he threw for two touchdowns and no interceptions.

The win kept Houston as the No. 4 seed in the AFC playoffs and it has a one-game lead over indianapolis (7-8) in the AFC South.

Cassel, meanwhile, proved to be a worse fit than Weeden in Dallas, and was benched in favor of the inexperienced Kellen Moore. Maybe Jones was too quick to cut Weeden after all.

While Jones and the Cowboys prepare for next season, Weeden and the Texans could clinch the AFC South with a win or tie against the Jaguars (5-10) or a Colts loss or tie against the Titans (3-12) on Sunday.
