Chivas Guadalajara weren't able to pry Alan Pulido from Olympiacos. Major League Soccer doesn't seem to be facing the same difficulty.

Pulido was the subject of a $10 million offer from Chivas Guadalajara earlier in December, but Olympiacos rejected the offer, asking for $22 million instead, per Proceso. Owner Jorge Vergara spent a month on negotiations, but to no avail.

With Olympiacos now willing to part ways with Pulido, the league has stepped in with a more lucrative offer according to Greek radio station 94.6 ENOP, per ESPN MX.

No clubs have been named nor insinuated, but there are plenty of options for a 24-year-old winger with national team experience.

Especially in Chicago.

The Fire have been devoid of elite-level talent and relevance in recent years. The club has done even less to galvanize the fanbase. Hiring Veljko Paunovic as the new head coach didn't help matters, either.

Not when Miguel Herrera was temporarily available.

Add to that the Fire's inability to land Jermaine Jones, and enough damage has been done to finish second-to-last in attendance last season, per Soccer Stadium Digest.
