Survivor pools are fun, and they seem easy, but it’s actually very hard to last longer than a few weeks. For those who have never done a survivor pool, the rules are simple. Each week you pick one team to win outright -- usually, survivor pools do not use spreads. Once you’ve picked that team, they’re unavailable to you for the rest of the season.

Someone, somewhere is still alive in a survivor pool, so here are three picks that will keep you alive.

These Are the Best Bargains At Each Position On Draft Kings

The Sure Thing: Texans over TITANS

This week we’ll avoid the big name teams because, let’s be honest, you used them. That’s how you’ve gotten so far. The Texans are down to Brandon Weeden at QB, which is normally bad, but could actually be an upgrade over T.J. Yates. The Texans need one more win to clinch the division, and they’re up against one of the worst teams in the NFL .With Marcus Mariota under center the Titans had a prayer. With the statue-esque Zach Mettenberger running the offense, he is going to be food for J.J. Watt and Jadeveon Clowney.

The Next Best Thing: Colts over DOLPHINS

Andrew Luck is out once again, but Matt Hasselbeck, even banged up, has proven serviceable. That’s all Indy will need to take out the hapless Dolphins, who have decided to mail in the rest of the year. The Dolphins defense is no longer providing any resistance, and the Colts absolutely must win out – and get help – to make the playoffs. Their game is the same time as Houston, so they’ve got to operate as if their playoff lives are at stake. Hopefully they don’t read this and understand their efforts are futile.

How To Replace Odell Beckham In The Fantasy Football Championship

If You Want To Get Cute: VIKINGS over Giants

The Giants are tough to bet against because Eli Manning and their high-powered passing game are a threat to a lead of any size, as the undefeated Panthers learned the hard way last week. Their attack is going to be grounded this week, however, without Odell Beckham, who makes the entire thing go. Manning still has Rueben Randle and Hakeem Nicks at his disposal, two receivers who can make plays. But neither is the consistently dominant force that Beckham is, nor can either of them take the top off a defense.

On the flip side, Teddy Bridgewater is hitting his stride (four touchdowns vs. Chicago on Sunday), and Adrian Peterson has reclaimed the throne as the NFL’s best running back. It could be a very long day for Big Blue.
