Odell Beckham has officially been suspended for one game thanks to his actions on Sunday against Panthers defensive backs Josh Norman and Cortland Finnegan. While the necessity of a suspension can be debated, as can the roles Norman and Finnegan played in Beckham’s violence, the fact of the matter is he’s out.
Which is awful news for many fantasy owners who rode him to the championship. If you’re in the ‘ship there’s a strong likelihood you have a capable backup to put in. But in case you don’t, here are three widely available options to plug in.
What The Broncos Should Do With Peyton Manning And Brock Osweiler
Rueben Randle, Giants (35% Owned)
Randle is not always dependable, but it’s hard to see him having a quiet game with Beckham completely out of the picture. Eli Manning is in for a temper-trying afternoon on Sunday trying to wring production out of Randle, Hakeem Nicks and Dwayne Harris, but the way the Giants’ offense lets it fly, it’s possible.
Randle has been productive lately, scoring touchdowns in three of his last four games. Expect Sunday vs. Minnesota to be another game with at least one touchdown.
Top Waiver Wire Pickups For The Fantasy Championship
Jermaine Kearse, Seahawks (6% Owned)
Kearse is a big risk, because Doug Baldwin has morphed into Jerry Rice over the past four weeks, and Tyler Lockett has more big play potential. Russell Wilson is so locked in, however, that all three guys may be worth starting. Kearse has caught seven balls in each of the last two weeks, and Seattle is up against the Rams, who look like they’ve given up on life. He isn’t Beckham by any stretch, but right now it’s a toss-up as to which Seahawk will go nuts. But we know at least one will.
Dontrelle Inman, Chargers (8% Owned)
The Chargers showed signs of life last week vs. a pathetic Dolphins defense, and Inman is, right now, their top receiver not named Antonio Gates. The Raiders aren’t pushovers, but they’re no strangers to shootouts either. Inman is going to get at least five targets in this one, and he’s capable of making all five count.
