Iman Shumpert's groin may be keeping him off the court, but the rest of his body is working just fine -- including his mind.

When the Cavalier's shooting guard's wife went into unexpected labor at around 6 a.m. Thursday, he knew exactly what to do. With his wife feeling the baby's head starting to come out, Shumpert played the role of a doctor and helped bring his first-born child into this world in unexpected fashion.

And oh yeah, he used headphones to tie the umbilical cord. Props for inventiveness. Here's another one for his highlight reel.

Shumpert's wife, R&B singer Teyana Taylor chronicled the whole crazy ordeal on her Instagram page:

Taylor added that the couple's new daughter has "blown Christmas away" and that she never cried throughout the whole process. It wasn't your average birth, but the story about Iman Tayla Shumpert Jr.'s introduction into this world will be shared for years to come.

While he was able to play Superman off the court, Shumpert's groin will keep him from factoring into the Cavalier's game against the Thunder on Thursday in Cleveland. Cavs coach David Blatt made it sound as though Shumpert's ailment wasn't the run-of-the-mill type of injury.

"Honestly a little concerned," Blatt said on Tuesday via Cleveland.com. "I've got to be honest with you. I have no idea what the extent is. Just given our recent history, I'm concerned."

When Shumpert's time in the NBA comes to an end, at least he knows there could be a future for him as an OBGYN.
