Ex-NBA star Lamar Odom has been a topic of conversation since October when he overdosed in a Las Vegas brothel and went into a coma. Odom pulled out of the life-threatening situation to survive, but he’s hardly living according to E!.
“He’s not doing great,” a source said. “His speech is still slurred and he can barely walk on his own yet. He forgets a lot of people’s names — sometimes even his own. He definitely has some memory loss.
Khloe Won't Get Back With Lamar, But Wants Him Nearby
His wife, Khloe Kardashian, told E! that she’s not sure he realizes what happened to him. “I don’t know if he fully understands everything, but I know he is grateful… and I’m not doing it for validation. I’m not doing it to get praise back.”
Some members of the Kardashian clan are less enthused about continuing to care for Odom, which, according to Khloe, will be happening for “a long time.”
Lamar Is Ruining Khloe's Other Relationships
Kim Kardashian blasted her mother and manager, Kris Jenner, for encouraging the family to stand by Odom during his recovery.
“You just have a sentimental thing with Lamar and at some point you have to get over it because what you did created a bigger stream of problems,” Kim told Kris. “Her talking to Lamar and you saying, ‘Lamar deserves a second chance,’ that is so wrong. That’s being a bad mother!”
Kim clearly wants no part of Odom’s problems, but that might just be tough luck for her, because Khloe doesn’t look like she’s going anywhere. She halted her divorce from Odom in the wake of him nearly dying, and put her current relationship with Rockets guard James Harden on hold.
Kim, in the past, has not shown that kind of commitment to the men in her life. Before marrying rapper Kanye West, Kim was married to Wizards forward Kris Humphries for all of 72 days before filing for divorce. Humphries filed for an annulment, and accused Kim of staging everything for publicity for their televised nuptials.
