Now that the Browns have decided that former Rams quarterback Austin Davis gives them the best chance to win, the Rams might consider reciprocating.

St. Louis -- or will it be Los Angeles? -- is considered a possible destination spot for embattled quarterback Johnny Manziel, who is still in the Browns' timeout area for lying to the coaching staff about partying during Cleveland's bye week.

Johnny Manziel Has Become Too Valuable To Release

"Cleveland could decide to part ways with Manziel -- given the option to start him, the Browns instead chose Austin Davis this week -- and it's easy enough to draw up a short list of teams that could have some level of interest, according to people around the league," ESPN reported. "It could include the Rams, who considered using their 2014 first-round pick on Manziel before opting for standout defensive tackle Aaron Donald instead."

The Rams got out from under quarterback Sam Bradford's burdensome contract and got a second-round draft pick from the Eagles in the trade that brought Nick Foles to St. Louis.

Details Of Johnny Manziel's Two-Night Drinking Binge During Bye Week

Coach Jeff Fisher showed how much faith he has in Foles when he left in Case Keenum late in the Rams' loss to the Ravens, despite the fact that Keenum was shown clearly holding his helmet after a sack forced his head into the turf (St. Louis later was questioned for not going through concussion protocol after it was discovered that Keenum did have a concussion). Keenum returned to the starting lineup a week later, and the Rams fizzled out in a 31-7 loss to the Bengals.

The Rams are considered one of five teams that should have an interest in Johnny Football, FanSided.com reports, along with the Eagles, 49ers, Texans and Cowboys.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has said he flirted with drafting Manziel last season, but he also went off on the media after they questioned how much longer injured Tony Romo has left in the league. Eagles coach Chip Kelly was rumored to be interested in Manziel last year but never pulled the trigger.

The Rams offense has budding stars in running back Todd Gurley and wide receiver Tavon Austin, along with what is supposed to be a strong defense (St. Louis' current four-game losing streak notwithstanding).

Though the popular choices for a Manziel trade are to Dallas and Philadelphia, the Rams in St. Louis or Los Angeles could make the most sense.
