Those dreams of Chip Kelly returning to the Pac 12 are over. Clay Helton was named the permanent head coach of USC on Monday, signing a multiyear contract, per ESPN.

"After weeks of searching the collegiate and pro ranks, interviewing candidates, and speaking with head coaches, athletic directors, NFL executives, and very knowledgeable football people, and after observing Clay in action the past seven weeks, it became abundantly clear that what we were searching for in a coach was right here in front of us," athletic director Pat Haden said in a statement.

Helton guided the Trojans to a 5-2 record as interim head coach.

Needles to say, excitement was abound following the announcement.

Eagles Still Believe They're Paying The Price For Cutting Tebow

Much like USC players, Titans fans were equally excited to hear Ian Rapoport's news on 97.5 The Fanatic.

The rumor would see the Titans spend consecutive first-round picks on bringing the 2014 Oregon Ducks to Tennessee.

At 2-9, it's not the worst idea for the Titans. Especially in a season where half the free world is still fighting for a playoff spot in the AFC.
