Call it the Stingy P Syndrome. Or the Black Hole Mamba Complex.

It's a wild statistic that is symptomatic of the Lakers plight the past two-plus seasons, but Nick Young never has made an assist on a Kobe Bryant field goal in their three years together in Los Angeles, Complex.com reported, based on an ESPN video.

'Fire Byron Scott' Talk Begins To Circulate Around Lakers

The drought is not quite as bad as it sounds. Though Young joined the Lakers in 2013-14, he and Bryant had played in only 371 minutes together, heading into Friday night's game at Brooklyn. The streak was extended as Young did not have an assist during the Lakers' 104-98 victory over the Nets.

Still, that's a long time to play together without Swaggy P setting up Kobe for a basket or Bryant making the basket off a feed from Young.

Opening Night Enhances D'Angelo Russell's Bust Potential

Assists aren't Young's specialty, as his 1.1 career assists per game attest.

"It's not as though Young is known for distributing the basketball, but he did assist 10 other Lakers teammates at least once last year," Complex.com reported. "And since he averages just a single assist per game, there aren't exactly a ton of opportunities to get Bryant the ball."

Bryant isn't exactly Magic Johnson, in terms of assists, but he has dished out 14 assists on Swaggy P field goals.

The Black Mamba has missed 123 games from the 2013-14 through 2014-15 seasons because of injuries; Young has missed 58. That has added to their delay in meshing.

But the Lakers often become spectators when Bryant has had the ball on offense because of his ability to create his own shot. The problem for Bryant the past few seasons is his inability to make his own shot.

It would seem only natural that the Los Angeles offense would include plays designed to get Bryant the ball where he likes to shoot. But he may just be too stubborn to play as a catch-and-shoot marksman.
