Well, it happened. The WWE announced the inevitable, much to the chagrin of most members of the WWE Universe, revealing on RAW that Kane will battle Seth Rollins at Hell in a Cell.

Rusev The Next Threat To Seth Rollins?

From the start, this has been a cartoonish feud that reached epic proportions last week when Corporate Kane was injured by Rollins and Demon Kane emerged from an ambulance. Now, it continues into Oct. 25 as the two Superstars will go toe-to-toe live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Making matters worse, it isn't even a Hell in a Cell match, it will just be a standard singles bout with the only stipulation being that if Kane loses, Corporate Kane will no longer be the director of operations. Here are five potential outcomes for the clash at Hell in a Cell.

Seth Rollins' Girlfriend Resurfaces After Getting Fired From WWE

1) Please WWE, Just Cancel It

Rollins is a 29-year-old Superstar in his prime and the WWE has booked him to look awful creatively despite him putting on tremendous matches with just about everyone. Rollins faced a 56-year-old Sting, (which was cool), at Night of Champions, and now he turns his attention to a 48-year-old Kane. There are a plethora of options for Rollins to face instead (Dolph Ziggler, Cesaro), there is no reason Kane should be No. 1 contender. It's not 1998.

2) Rollins Retains

One positive that could come out of all of this is "The Architect" could look strong for once. The WWE has had him absorb pinfalls in non-title matches left and right and it has also booked for him to rarely win without cheating or getting help from someone. That's fine to establish him as a heel, but does nothing to make him look the part of a worthy champion. If Rollins can cleanly defeat a veteran like Kane, it could make him look strong for once.

3) A Reign For Kane?

Hopefully this doesn't happen, but it's plausible that the WWE sees Kane's career winding down and wants to give him one last run with the belt, even if it's short-lived. Kane is a two-time World Heavyweight Champion -- including a one-day reign in 1998, and it's possible after two decades with the company, he's rewarded for his loyalty.

4) Luck Of The Irish

One can never count out Sheamus getting involved as he still holds the Money in the Bank contract, good enough for a title shot at anytime in the next year. The "Celtic Warrior" has held the briefcase since June and his cash-in attempt at Night of Champions was thwarted off by Kane. Sheamus is sort of middling around with no direction right now, so the WWE may give him the gold.

5) Game Over

There have been rumors for months that the WWE plans on running a Triple H vs. Rollins mentor vs. protégé storyline in the near future, and that could be kick-started at Hell in a Cell. "The Architect" has been a lot to deal with as champion and he even uses Triple H's Pedigree as his signature move. If the WWE wants to turn Rollins face, Triple H could betray him in favor of the Demon Kane, proving that the torture of Rollins by Kane these last few months was a ruse from the get-go.
