The good news for Bulls fans is that Derrick Rose will be back with the team this coming Wednesday after undergoing surgery for a fractured left orbital he suffered last week.
The bad news is that while the former MVP will be rejoining his teammates, he will be relegated as a spectator for now as he buys time for his eye to heal.

"They have advised him to continue to let that sight heal and they think the best way for him to do that is to stay home at this time," coach Fres Hoiberg said via the Chicago Tribune. "They don't want him really doing much of anything except walking, getting a lot of rest and not doing anything where he could dilate his blood vessels. After those two weeks, he should be able to resume full activity."
Rose is expected to be out for two weeks as he allows his injury to heal. He has been prevented by doctors from engaging in basketball activities until after that time.

For the meantime however, some coaches will pay Rose a visit in his home as they try to familiarize the Chicago guard on the new portions of coach Hoiberg’s system being done in practice.
Hoiberg is however hopeful that Rose will be back in harness when the Bulls open their campaign against the Cavaliers on Oct. 27
"After those two weeks he should be able to resume full activity. It's just these two weeks he'll be very inactive. They don't really want him doing much of anything except walking back and forth, just getting a lot of rest. And not doing anything where he can dilate his blood vessels is kind of what we heard" says Hoiberg via ESPN.
