The Bears could really use some help right now, particularly in quarterbacking.

Regular starting quarterback Jay Cutler has been out since suffering a hamstring injury he sustained in Week 2 where the Bears lost to the Arizona Cardinals. Cutler is still on the mend and taking his spot for the meantime is Jimmy Clausen.

Sadly, Clausen doesn’t seem to be holding up pretty well. He was forced to start in Cutler’s place against the Seattle Seahawks and the final score pretty much told the difference. The Bears got blanked 26-0.

The Bears have yet to register a win this season. At the moment, they are 0-3 though they have a chance to finally snag a win if they can pull one against the Oakland Raiders.

The chances of the Bears copping their first win of the season could get better though with reports from the Chicago Bears Twitter account that Cutler has now been listed as day-to-day.

Though a possible return by Cutler should render better odds in the quarterback position, the fact remains that Cutler has not necessarily been consistent. Cutler has only led the team once in the playoffs and has never had a passer rating above 89.2 in a season.

But a bright spot for the Bears is that even with their current season struggles, they could be in the running for the first overall pick of the 2016 NFL Draft. This could provide them a good opportunity to select a key player to resolve the key players they need to hone up their roster.

Aside from Cutler’s sidelining, wide receiver Alshon Jeffery has also missed the last two games and has not been doing much in practice. With a depleted roster, seeing the Bears faring badly doesn’t seem to be surprising. Jeffery has also been ruled out against the Raiders.

In fact, their defensive end tells pretty much how the Bears are faltering, considering that they have yet to limit opponents to less than 26 points.

Could a Cutler return turn their fortunes around? Right now and based on how things are going, it isn’t really looking good for the Bears.
