Throughout his career, DeMarcus Cousins has been known to do most of his damage on offense inside the shaded lane. But now it seems that Boogie will be loading up with a new offensive weapon -- the three ball.
With training camp underway, reports have it that Cousins has seemingly fallen in love hoisting from deep. Further to reports, it seems that head coach George Karl has no qualms about it. In fact he could be the one egging Cousins to take the outside shot.

Karl has been known to be an offensive innovator and while his hand on Cousin’s sudden trigger-happy nature doesn’t seem to add up for now, the eventual benefactor from it would be the Kings.
The Kings are of course looking to add more offensive options this season. Cousins is known to be an inside operator so adding an outside shot could pose problems for opposing teams.

With a honed up outside shot, players who end up guarding Boogie Cousins could be forced to come out defend him outside the shaded lane. If that happens, Cousins could have more space to operate or at least spread the floor more as well for his big teammates in the middle like Willie Cauley-Stein or even Kosta Koufos.
But looking over the Kings roster, it may be wise for Cousins to pick his shots from the outside. The fact remains that the Kings will still need him to do his damage inside.
The Kings are not lacking in people who can hit it from outside. Rudy Gay, Marco Belinelli, Caron Butler or maybe even Seth Curry could hit it from the outside though seeing a big guy like Cousins contributing will most certainly be welcome.
