Rutgers is set to begin its Big Ten slate against Penn State on Saturday after two impressive wins to start the 2015 season, but they'll have to beat the Nittany Lions without head coach Kyle Flood. The Scarlet Knights head coach was suspended for three games due to rules violations, per NJ.com.

Flood is in hot water for sending an improper e-mail to a professor regarding starting cornerback Nadir Barnwell's academics. In addition to the issue with contacting a faculty member, Rutgers' football program has been plagued by off-the-field arrests.

Recently five players, including Barnwell, have been booted from the team for being arrested. Fellow cornerback Dre Boggs and fullback Lloyd Terry have been hit with home invasion charges while Barnwell and another three players face assault charges. On Sunday, NJ.com reports that star receiver Leonte Caroo was suspended for his involvement in a domestic violence incident.

While none of that helps Flood, the issue at hand is his improper contact with a faculty member. NJ.com reported the University's policy is as follows:

"All contact with faculty members or instructional staff, if necessary, should be handled by the Academic Support staff'' and doesn't permit "coach-initiated contact of any type (e.g., oral, written, etc.) ... between any member of the coaching staff and any Rutgers faculty member or associated instructional staff (teaching assistant, co-adjutant, part-time lecturer, etc.) with respect to any student-athlete.''

Rutgers next three games are at Penn State, home vs. Kansas and home against Michigan State.
