Night of Champions will be a big event for Seth Rollins as the reigning WWE World Heavyweight and United States Champion will defend both of his belts against Sting and John Cena, respectively, in the same night.

5 Best World Title Matches In Night Of Champions History

The kayfabe odds are stacked against "The Architect" as he looks to continue to prove that he's the future (and present) of the company. The former Hounds of Justice member will have to get through the face of the WWE and the icon of WCW in the same night to escape the Toyota Center in Texas with both of his belts.

There are plenty of scenarios that can play out at Night of Champions on Sept. 20 as Rollins can escape with one title, both belts or lose everything. We will rank the odds (from least to greatest, 4-1) of each event occurring below. This is merely opinion, and if your's differ, feel free to shout it out in the comments section.

5 Possible Outcomes To Sting Vs. Seth Rollins

4) Rollins Retains Both

It seems as though heading into the event, Rollins walking out with both belts is the least likely scenario. There were rumors that the WWE has reportedly already set in motion an initiative to start selling Cena United States Championship shirts again, while Sting losing twice in his only two matches also seems like a long shot.

Rollins is bound to lose one of the belts as there seems to be no long-term future storyline for Cena and if the "Cenation" leader loses a U.S. Title bout to the former Shield leader, he won't be in the WWE World Heavyweight Championship title hunt anytime soon.

There is some intrigue in the possibility of Rollins winning both matches, either by DQ, countout or outside help and heel tactics. He could then brag about being a double champion and beating two of the biggest names in the same night a la Chris Jericho when he toppled The Rock and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin to become the first Undisputed Champion. Still, it's highly unlikely.

3) Rollins Retains World, Drops U.S.

This one is a little more likely than Rollins retaining both, because Cena is a full-time Superstar, while Sting is a part-timer. Rollins could lose to Cena early on in the night, increasing the hype and importance of the main event for "The Undisputed Future" as he'll look to make sure he at least escapes with one title.

Cena has done magical things with the U.S. Championship, so it wouldn't be a surprise to see the WWE give it back to him. It would also guarantee that the WWE can save the Cena tying Ric Flair with 16 World Title reigns storyline in its back pocket, while also ridding Rollins of the burden of having to defend two belts.

With Rollins in desperation mode following his loss to Cena, it would then be conceivable that he'll defeat Sting in some under-handed manner to retain the title, since the WWE creative team never wants to book him to accomplish anything on his own.

2) Rollins Retains U.S., Drops World

It is possible that Rollins somehow manages to defeat Cena, thus creating the opposite effect of the last scenario, with Rollins now building a head of steam and looking as though he can go 2-0. If Rollins tops Cena, he can get a swelled head going into his encounter with Sting later in the night.

If the WWE has plans for Sting, Sheamus or even Cena to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in hopes of a change of pace, Rollins still having the United States Championship will at least give him something to do as he transitions back down to the midcard.

Personally, the best course of action would be for Rollins to retain the World Title and face Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 32 for the richest prize in the game. This being the WWE, a year-long title reign may not be in the cards, nor is thinking far ahead.

It's possible that Rollins could lose to Sting and "The Vigilante" immediately drops the title to a Sheamus cash-in to end the Money in the Bank storyline, get the belt off of Rollins and also get it off of a part-timer.

Rollins could also retain the belt and lose to a "Celtic Warrior" cash-in attempt, generating the same outcome.

1) Rollins Loses Everything

The way Rollins has been booked as champion, it wouldn't be surprising to see him lose it all come Night of Champions. The creative team has enjoyed making him a whiny heel, so they may look to get mileage out of him constantly complaining about being forced to wrestle two matches in one night against two of the very best in the business.

Rollins has had tremendous matches as champion, but the creative team seems lost in what to do with him, which is evident by precious television minutes being wasted on him bitching about a stolen statue. The terrible direction for him is also evident in the ring as the WORLD CHAMPION jobbed to the INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPION on RAW this week, with Ryback defeating him.

"The Architect" has also nearly lost his title to Brock Lesnar (Undertaker interfered), Randy Orton (Sheamus interfered) and Sheamus (Orton interfered) before being saved by outside sources. Let's also not forget that leading up to SummerSlam, he tapped out against Cena in the match that he broke his nose.

There's nothing with the creative direction that suggests Rollins will go over on Sept. 20. It's hard to envision Cena losing too many matches and Sting being defeated for the second straight time. It appears after Night of Champions, Rollins will no longer have the distinction of being a champion.
