Though the dust is still settling over a memorable SummerSlam, it's time to look ahead to the next WWE special event, Night of Champions.

WWE SummerSlam 2015 Results: Seth Rollins, Undertaker Stand Tall

The title-holders of the WWE will be on full display when the event emanates from the Toyota Center in Houston, Tex. as all the gold will be on the line at the ninth edition of this event.

Here are eight potential matches for Night of Champions based on the current WWE storylines:

1) WWE Tag Team Championships: The New Day (c) vs. The Prime Time Players

Titus O'Neil and Darren Young dropped the belts to Kofi Kingston and Big E, who had Xavier Woods by their side, in a Fatal 4 Way elimination match at SummerSlam that also involved The Lucha Dragons and Los Matadores. With the titles changing hands, it would only make sense that the Prime Time Players get a rematch against the new cocky heel champions.
Update: The Dudley Boyz are now back in the mix, and could take this spot.

2) WWE Intercontinental Championship: Ryback (c) vs. Kevin Owens

Now that Owens has a big victory over Cesaro in his pocket, his road to redemption should lead him to another chance at WWE gold. Ryback's match with The Miz and The Big Show was admittedly better than most people's mild expectations, but it's time for "The Big Guy" to move on to a better feud. Owens and Ryback waging war could be just what the Intercontinental Championship needs to regain its relevance.

3) Mixed Tag Team Match: Dolph Ziggler & Lana vs. Rusev & Summer Rae

Following the "Bulgarian Brute" and "The Showoff" going head-to-head in a match that ended in a double countout at SummerSlam, this appears to be the next logical step. Summer Rae and Lana have been at odds for months and the catfight continued outside the ring on Sunday. With the ladies and the men both mixing it up thus far in the rivalry, the only conclusion is to get them all in the ring together to settle the score at Night of Champions.

4) No Holds Barred: Sheamus vs. Randy Orton

These two Superstars aren't the most over with the Internet Wrestling Community due to their constant pushes and the fact that their characters are pretty stale, but they do mesh well together in the squared circle. "The Viper" won their first encounter at Battleground while "The Celtic Warrior" got his revenge at SummerSlam. Now, the two should go at it with no disqualifications and no countouts in the rubber match of their series at Night of Champions.

5) Roman Reigns w/ Dean Ambrose vs. Bray Wyatt w/ Luke Harper

The families went to war at SummerSlam with the babyfaces getting the win, but it seems like this rivalry may still have some juice left in it. Though Reigns pinned Wyatt in the tag match on Sunday, the "Eater of Worlds" still owns a victory over him at Battleground. It seems Reigns is in line to get some vengeance come Sept. 20.

6) United States Championship Tournament Finals: Dean Ambrose vs. Cesaro

This is going out on a limb because the WWE hasn't been clear about what is going to happen to the United States Championship now that Seth Rollins is in possession of two belts. There is a possibility that Rollins keeps the gold, but if he were to relinquish it, a tournament would make the most sense to crown an undisputed champion.

With Cesaro free of his feud with Owens and Ambrose in need of something to do, a matchup between the two fan favorites in the finals would be a classic clash.

7) WWE Divas Championship Triple Threat: Nikki Bella (c) w/ Brie Bella & Alicia Fox vs. Becky Lynch w/ Paige & Charlotte vs. Sasha Banks w/ Naomi & Tamina

Now that all three of the factions battled it out at SummerSlam, it's time for the focus to shift back to the Divas Championship. Nikki is on pace to break AJ Lee's record for longest reign atop the division, but these two divas could stand in her way of expanding on making history.

Lynch deserves to be P.C.B.'s representative because she has looked strong since her debut and she eliminated Brie at SummerSlam. Banks, meanwhile, is a former NXT Women's Champion and made Nikki tap out last week on RAW.

8) WWE World Heavyweight Championship: Seth Rollins (c) vs. John Cena

Depending on what they do with the United States Championship, this bout could end up being a two-falls match for both titles if "The Architect" keeps them. It appears as though the feud between Rollins and Cena will continue, especially since the former Shield member is still wearing his anti-Cena shirt and the "Cenation" leader was screwed by Jon Stewart at SummerSlam.

The two will engage in another encounter at Night of Champions as Cena looks to tie Ric Flair with his 16th World Title and Rollins looks to hold onto the gold he won at WrestleMania 31.

Update: Sting vs. Seth Rollins has been announced for the card.
