Sidney Crosby for the Vezina? It could happen.
The Penguins captain suited up between the pipes for a dek hockey game involving Penguins office workers that took place near the team's new practice facility in Danbury, Pa., according to Penguins.com.
Crosby, the two-time Hart Trophy winner for his offensive skills, excelled in the blue paint by leading his team to a 4-3 victory. It wasn't the first time Crosby donned pads and spent time in the crease. The Pittsburgh captain surprised a dek hockey team during the lockout in 2012 by showing up and playing goalie for them.
The five-time NHL All-Star was able to keep his identity a secret due to his goalie mask and didn't take it off until after the game was finished. On Tuesday, he showed his competitive spirit by mulling strategies and techniques with his teammates after each 10-minute period of the dek hockey game.

Crosby wasn't the only big name to show up to the game as former Penguin Colby Armstrong played in the game as well. Armstrong and Crosby are former teammates and remain good friends to this day.

On the ice, Crosby is coming off of a season where he finished third in the league with 56 assists and 84 points as the Penguins clinched a wild-card berth into the Stanley Cup playoffs. Pittsburgh was then ousted by the Rangers in five games during Round 1 as Crosby notched two goals and two points.
Crosby may have showed what he can do in between the pipes on Tuesday, but he'll yield the reins to Marc-Andre Fleury when the puck drops on the Penguins season on Oct. 8 against the Stars in Dallas.
